Honda XL350 K1 – 1975 – MOT and Tax exempt
Tank is solid but shows outward signs of light rust as you can see in the pics. I have lacquered over this to stop it spreading. Inside its clean – no rust
Bike has been completely stripped and rebuilt and the work has included the following
Strip and repaint the frame and swingarm
New swingarm bushes
New head bearing bushes
Rebuilt both front and rear wheels using existing rims with new spokes
New wheel bearings front and back
Rebuilt forks, new seals.
New tyres front and back
Rebuilt Carb
Engine :
New crank bearings
New Piston & rings
Valves lapped and seals replaced
Various other new seals in the process of rebuilding the engine
Resistors fitted in line with the headlamp, so it can run without a battery and not blow bulbs
Its still a 6v system
Registered as Historic with DVLA so no tax and MOT requried
Runs fine – starts mostly on first or second kick.
Still room for improvement, but I lack the time and space. Im riding it on and off as a run around.
