Heading back to the mainland (Vancouver)
I work early today to catch the ferry back to the mainland, and back to where I started my journey in Vancouver. Today would be my last day on the bike, and I was already starting to reflect on my amazing journey in Canada.
It was about an hour ride to the ferry terminal, and with a fairly direct route from the hotel I arrived and boarded with plenty of time to spare. The ferry journey to the mainland was approximately two hours, which gave me time to enjoy some brunch and take in some more amazing views of the coastline between Vancouver Island and the mainland.
By the time we docked at Vancouver it was another glorious sunny day. I had plenty of time to navigate the roads back to Cycle BC Rentals to drop off the bike, before catching a cab to my hotel near English Bay. The BMW F800GT had been a reliable companion on my trip, and would recommend to anyone considering a 2 week road trip across Canada.
It was a short cab ride back to my hotel, and with the thought of being my last day in Canada and not having to ride tomorrow I spent some time catching the afternoon sun at English Bay before enjoying a few drinks in the local bars. Tomorrow I would be taking my evening flight back to the UK, so a late breakfast would be acceptable!
Thanks for reading my Canada motorcycle article, I hope you enjoyed it. Please feel free to leave comments and feedback.
Ride safe,
