Reaching journeys end at Christchurch

A large portion of my riding today retraces my previous route when heading south. A must visit place on my route is the famous church at Tekapo, which has one of the most amazing views from the church window you will ever find.

The weather today was cold and bright, and felt strange as I loaded the bike for the last time on the trip.  Its very easy to get distracted on your last day of riding with thoughts of travelling home and back to the daily commute.

As if to remind me that I’d be heading back to the UK the following day, the heavens opened on reaching the outskirts of Christchurch. After riding around a few suburban areas trying to listen to my phone navigation instructions I finally reached the rental depot.

After the usual paperwork and a well earn cuppa from the guys at the depot, it was time to say goodbye to the Suzuki Bandit and transfer to my hotel for the evening. I had a lunchtime flight the following morning, so it was an early dinner and beer before catching up with sleep. The long journey home awaits! Thank you New Zealand, you provided all seasons in one day and the scenery to match, until we meet again!
