Heading to the west coast and Prince Rupert

I had a feeling that today would be another great of riding in Canada, with the sun rising over the mountains in Smithers. I had a great evening chatting to some of the locals, and was looking forward to more amazing scenery as I headed further west towards Prince Rupert.

Highway 16 heads north via Hazleton before turning west towards Kitwanga through more amazing mountain ranges, which reveal more tree lined plains and beautiful fast flowing rivers.

As the miles wound down towards Prince Rupert the road started to hug the coastline, and made me realise that I’d soon be starting the final leg of my road trip to Vancouver Island.

Having reached Prince Rupert early in the afternoon, I decided to ride down to the port to validate my ferry tickets before checking in to my hotel. The sun was still shining, and the hotel restaurant provided an amazing view whilst I enjoyed another well earned beer and meal before turning in for the evening. Tomorrow would be a very early start to catch the early ferry heading for Vancouver Island.
