1960 Velocette Viper

1960 velotte viper

This had a full engine overhaul by a well known velocette specialist in 2008.

It’s done about 250 miles since. Being stored by the previous owner.

It’s got 12v electronic ignition, criterion 12v alternator, alloy rims, and a brand new battery fitted, also I’ve just fitted a brand new seat. Also brand new down pipe to go with it

Paint on the tank isn’t the best, it’s original and I was going to get that done if I kept it.

Levers are showing signs of rust, also fork gaiters are split when on the centre stand. Not noticeable when on side stand or riding. Easy to change when you fit the nacelle and ears.

It’s not a show winner but still quite presentable.

I know I’m not going to get my money back with what I’ve spent on it. Owes me over £5200 plus ferry’s to UK to collect etc.

Carb has been ultrasonic cleaned and works perfect nice clean carburation.

Engine is so smooth and although not thrashed pulls very nicely for a 350 even with me on. Still wants a few more miles to run in a bit more.

I have the correct nacelle and fork ears for headlamp to go with the it.

It’s such a sweet bike, runs absolutely perfect and starts first kick hot or cold.

Charges like a modern day bike too.

Clutch is beautiful, doesn’t slip or drag and you can change gear stationary not rolling to a stop.

I bought it a few months ago with every intention of using it, but sadly classic bikes are not for me.

There is nothing wrong with the bike.

I’m just too big for them and I need a big tourer like a bmw 1200gs etc now.

A deposit of £500 bank transfer not PayPal to be paid before the bike leaves the island. This is to cover costs to get the bike to Heysham Lancaster or Liverpool on the ferry.
