Velocette LE 200 Mk2 1952 – Runs for Spares or Repair with Many New Parts

Thanks for viewing, you can bid or buy in confidence from a trusted Ebayer who values their 100% ‘Positive Feedback’.

As a keen Biker, I bought this bike in 2019, intending it to be a ‘Winter Project’. Unfortunately Covid and and a house move intervened and so in 2021 it was handed to the guy who maintains my bikes to carry out a ‘Deep Fettle’ (not a full on restoration) and get it running again. This was successful and there were numerous new parts fitted totalling around £1000 (see attached invoices). I have also bought around £300 of additional parts (radiator and cap, seats refurb, wiring loom etc). The bike was returned to me, however ill health meant it was garaged and unused for some time. Consequently it is now being sold as a ‘Non Runner – For Spares or Repairs’, with everything this implies. All parts mentioned are fitted to the bike.

Please view the attached photo’s as they give a good indication of condition and form part of this listing.

I have attached a photo of the bike when I bought it which shows the Registration Number FFK857. There is no DVLA record of this number, however I have obtained a certified extract of the original registration from the records office in Worcester, which will be supplied (see photo). The Velo Owners Club have confirmed the engine and frame number as being from a 1952 Mk2 model and this paperwork will also be supplied with the bike. I have not made any attempt to register the bike at DVLA as I believe there needs to be a ‘Paper’ link between the registration number and either the engine or frame number. I do not have this, but it’s not to say it cannot be established in the future. The number FFK857 was valued at £600 by Registration Transfers in 2019.

Whilst it would be nice to think this bike will be ridden on the road again, it does present an opportunity as a ‘Donor’ bike for another restoration project, as the selling price is considerably less than the value of parts I have bought, let alone the individual value of the running gear. I have carried out a quick estimate using Ebay and similar sources, and I believe the collective parts value to be well in excess of £1250, if sold individually. I want £875 for the bike.
