Yamaha Vmax 1200 Gen 1, J Reg (Restoration project)

Vmax 1200 Gen 1 J reg (33 years old) for restoration, I brought this a few months ago as a non-runner with big ideas of getting it back on the road for Summer, sadly summer came to late and I have ran out of time.

What I have done so far

New Battery

New Pulse coil

New stator

New brake pads front and rear

Front Calipers and master cylinders rebuilt.

New HD sprag gear

Replacement CDI

All electrics work fine as they should, forks and shocks are very good for the age of the bike with no pitting to the fork’s, tyres will need to be changed due to the age, exhausts and all chrome are in very good condition for a bike that has been stored for 16 years. The carbs need a good clean as does the fuel tank, I have kinda had it running using a drop tank, but it backfired and took out the new sprag gear, common for big yams, all of the usual gremlins and fixes have been done as far as I can tell. Sadly I don’t have the time to continue with this project and could be a very simple project for someone who has a bit more time than me.
