2003 Honda CB900F Hornet (919) – Reliable Daily Commuter with Extras
Overview
Up for sale is my 2003 Honda CB900F Hornet. This bike has been my daily commuter for the past year, and it has been absolutely flawless. If you know these bikes, you know the engines are bulletproof—it has never missed a beat.
I am genuinely gutted to see it go, but my daily commute is over an hour each way, and I’ve decided I need something a bit more practical for long-distance touring.
The Ride
This is a fast, capable naked bike. It is a significant step up in power and torque from the Hornet 600, making it much more comfortable for overtaking and motorway speeds while remaining agile. It is a real head-turner and still looks fantastic on the road.
Condition
The bike is in good shape for its age, though as a 20-year-old machine, it does have some character:
• Engine & Forks: There is some paint peeling on the engine casings and front fork legs (see photos).
• Tank: A couple of small chips on the fuel tank.
• Maintenance: I’ve done a fair bit of work myself to keep it looking sharp and running well.
I have tried to be as honest as possible with the photography—please study the images to see the age-related wear.
What’s Included?
The bike comes with a great selection of extras and original parts:
• Givi Rack & Top Box (Perfect for commuting/touring).
• Original Parts: Factory exhausts, original headlight, and wing mirrors included.
• Box of Spares: A collection of indicators, bulbs, and various nuts/bolts.
Price & Exchange
• Price: Open to sensible offers.
• Part Exchange/Swap: I am looking for something more touring-oriented. I would specifically consider a Triumph Tiger (PX or swap).
