Upon reflection this is one of my projects that I just won’t get done anytime soon…hence offing it for sale. Hopefully any money made will be re-invested in my other projects.
The bike is a project and in need of some cash and genuine TLC. I have applied for the V5 which will have in my name shortly. It will state the bike is an import (no surprise) year of manufacture 1990. Imported and registered in the UK 10/11/1994. The V5 will state the colour as Purple which is correct for the Cadbury Boost Race Rep colour scheme. I have two keys which fit the bikes lock systems. Whatever the situation a full written and signed receipt will be given to the buyer
I have little or no history for the bike other then it has only one MOT listed and that was for 2006/2007 this support the Klms shown on the clocks. It has been off road in storage since 2007.
I think it offers a sound foundation for a restoration or modified project. I intention was to modify the bike making it into a bikini fared road bike…..those that know know that it is very easy to transplant a FZR600 engine into the frame which could make it an even faster lightweight bike.
The bike is not complete however..the fairings are in poor condition and I only have what you see in the pictures so no LH or RH side fairings and the two jointing panels on the seat unit were missing when I got the bike.
The engine is free and turns over with compression. I have not had it running yet but I will verify shortly it will, once the carbs have been cleaned and refitted. The fuel pump is missing but these are easy to find and relatively cheap. The headers are good and the exup valve is working however a few header studs are broken and will need replacing. (Didn’t bother me I was going the 600 engine route but hadden found the right engine)
Most of the work needed will be cosmetic. Fork seals and front calipers aside…it depends how far you want to take the bikes restoration.
