Bought this as a project several years ago hoping to get it finished – time has now caught up with me and with other projects on the go and other commitments its time to let it go.
Selling as a project, its an A6 model the last of the anti dive models, believe that it has an A2 engine in place as the previous owner replaced the engine.
It runs and ticks over, when using a temporary tank, but the engine sounds a little clattery, think it could do with a new cam chain, if I had time I would take the top end off and inspect..
Its pretty much all there I also have a set of standard exhausts and downpipes to go with this – and these are worth over £500 on their own.
I think it’s a fairly straightforward project, and once its running right the rest is cosmetic, it has had a quite nice paint job at some stage but the tank is now dented. or simply break it for spares.
Carburation is out as its running on pod filters so wont rev as its not re jetted – so running lean and only on choke. I have a standard airbox for this as well. I cleaned out the carbs and put new diaphragms and float needle valves a few years back.
Panels have been loosely placed for the photos, what you see in the pictures is what you get.
Additional bits.
· New fuel tap
· Adjustable levers
· High capacity radiator and oil cooler
· Ape cam chain tensioner
· Nexus 4 into 1. ( there is another 4 into 1 without the silencer to go with this as well).
· Oil, filter, flushed cooling system through, new fan sensor and thermostat.
What I think it needs:
· Can chain
· Anti dive seals doing (I have the repair kit)
· Fork seals, but fork legs look ok
· Sorting out the poor running
· Screen
It’s a good winter project bike and nearly 40 years, its collection only I’m afraid, at a push I could deliver locally but only locally.
I would advise looking before bidding just so you know what to expect, and this is by appointment only as I have to get if from my lock-up.
