Rare 1989 Yamaha R1Z 250, fully restored to a very high standard, show standard, probably the best available, if your not familiar with this model then that’s because it was only produced for the Japanese domestic market, only a handful in the UK, uses the same engine as the TZR 250 with YPVS system and stylish tubular trellis frame, to the best of my knowledge this bike was restored by Jamie Lodge of Hearnshaw Motorcycles, Huddersfield, and was retailed by them for a whopping £9,000 such is the quality of the restoration, the bike has only covered approx 200 miles since the restoration, reducing my small collection and have found it a little small for my needs and the slightly forward leaning handle bars don’t suit me at 62 years old, the bike has been professionally painted in classic bounty colours, has a steering damper professionally fitted, is much admired by many two stroke enthusiasts, i have made the following improvements costing over £300 so you can imagine the cost of total restoration to this standard, new TYGA silencers, the removed silencers and hanger comes with the sale, have had the radiator side guards chromed, for some reason the restorer opted to place RD 250 decals on the side panels rather than R1Z 250 causing a little confusion, fortunately the restorer had foresight as these decals are not lacquered over so can easily be changed, new decals provided with the sale, all other decals are lacquered and the paintwork is to a high standard, starts first kick, runs beautifully, so, a rare, unique two stroke restored to a very high standard, ideal for a two stroke enthusiast that does not have the ability or time to restore, don’t miss it, not seen another to match this one, if no takers it will remain in my small collection, this bike is not going to depreciate from my asking price providing it is well maintained, price reduced, viewing is recommended at Chesterfield, log book in my name and address, no swaps, £200 deposit to reserve, full payment as cash or balance transfer at time of collection, tel Mick, mob 07919121093.
