I bought this bike as a project a few months ago. It had been off the road for a couple of years, but still ran. The plastics had been badly painted white with some broken fixings, so they were either replaced or reworked.
I removed the engine to rub down the frame and re-paint it.
Valve clearances have been checked and adjusted where necessary.
The swinging arm bearings were checked and re-greased.
All wheel bearing looked in good order but the oil seals were replaced.
Fort Stanchions are in good condition.
MOT until 31 Aug 2004. Only 33800 miles.
Overall in good condition though some of the paint has some imperfections.
I was originally going to keep the bike, but arthritis makes it difficult for me to ride.
PARTS SERVICED/REPLACED:
Brake Calipers overhauled with new Pistons, Seals and Pads
Brake Master Cylinders serviced
Fork Seals replaced plus new fork oil.
Rear Shock Linkage stripped and serviced with some needle bearings and all bearings re-greased.
Front and rear wheel Oil Seals replaced.
Tapered steering head bearings fitted.
Exhaust repainted with ceramic paint
Replacement Cam Chain Tensioner fitted (original part). Manual version is available.
Carburettors stripped, ultra-sonically cleaned with some new parts, also balanced.
Oil and Air filters replaced. Engine Oil changed. New Spark Plugs.
Replacement rear Indicators fitted.
2nd hand Radiator fitted as the original was damaged.
New screen fitted.
New Battery
Fairing Side Panels replaced with fibreglass items as the originals were damaged.
Fairings re-painted. Not perfect but still tidy.
The Tyres are fairly new with plenty of tread.
A Haynes Manual is included (tatty).
