1988 Kawasaki GPZ 900R Polaris Blue & Galaxy Silver Colour In Very Good Condition. This motorcycle was imported from Germany and registered in the Uk 12 March 2021. I have all the relevant paperwork regarding the registration, current V5C and MOT which expires 05.06.2026. The motorcycle was purchased from Chiemgau-Classics.com in October 2020. The bike needed some work doing when I received it. The water/drainage pipe around the petrol cap had been filled in for some reason so water was getting into the carbs!! This has all been repaired and now functions properly. I have tried to keep the motorcycle has original as possible. The exhausts are the original black chrome and in good condition. The bike was fitted with new Avon Mark 2 Roadrider tyres a couple of years ago and are in good condition with plenty of miles left in them.
Additions I have made include Oxford heated grips,Oxford USB port and Sat Nav power cable for TomTom Sat Nav. Please note that the speedometer is in kilometres, not a problem really as I use my sat nav as a speedo. The current speedometer is great for touring on the continent which the bike has done a couple times already. The sat nav and Ram holder are not included in the sale. Have also changed the windscreen to a touring MRA screen with gives more protection on the long haul. I have also changed the handlebars to ABM street bars making the ride more comfortable and less Tom Cruise. A brand spanking new chain and sprocket set was fitted at the end of May 2025 and hasn’t been broken in yet. An Optimate lead has also been added for trickle charging. I have fitted a Hepco & Becker tank bag which may be part of the sale if required. Failing that I have the original Kawasaki fittings
I also have the original screen and original wing mirrors. The wing mirrors have been replaced because the original’s are completely useless. The ones fitted are in keeping with the period and look of the motorcycle. Also included in the sale is a box of relevant Kawasaki bits which may be useful or could be sold separately. The bike has had a complete re-spray in its original colours and new decals applied throughout. There is some wear and tear on the bike as you would expect for a machine of this age . The mileage will be a bit more as stated as it is ridden regularly.
This is a great classic to ride has a 16” front wheel 17” rear so tucks in a bit quicker. I have toured comfortably on this bike without hiccup and took it on the track once to get a feel for it after its rebuild/repairs. Comes with two ignition keys and one seat key. Also I have added some bars to the rear flip out tie down points to ease strapping down a seat bag as well as acting as a buffer between loose saddlebags and painted side panels.
A 1980’s classic sounds great when you open her up, fun to ride and always turns heads. Reluctant to sell but needs must so if you’re after a classic in good running order and ready to ride make me an offer. Thanks for looking. Location Chesterfield.
