For sale is my 1986 Yamaha TZR 250 1KT. It was imported into the UK from Japan in 2018 and has a V5 in my name. It shows very low mileage at 2655 which I believe to be correct. It arrived with a KPM speedo that had 3714 kilometers (see picture of original speedo after I had ridden it a few miles). This has been replaced with a UK MPH unit that was set at the equavalent miles at the time. The old KPM speedo is included in the sale. The bike is in exceptional order throughout as can be seen in the photos and I have included 2 pictures of the engine with the fairings removed. The purists hate me for it but the wheels are powder coated white (as per 3MA) but there is a set of Red wheels included in the sale that will need repainting (see pictures). Both front and rear tyres are new. The exhaust system is perfect. I have a dating certificate from Yamaha Europe that says the bike was built on 1/5/86 which will make it a historic vehicle (No Tax or MOT) from 1st April 2027 next year although it does not require an MOT from this month. I also have the NOVA Customs paperwork. The wheel bearings (on the white wheels) have been replaced as has the Monoshock lower bearing. The brake calipers have been rebuilt and the DOT4 fluids renewed. The coolant has been renewed. Because the bike is 40 years old, the oil seals around the engine have been replaced. The original fuse panel has been replaced with a blade fuse unit. The bike is running the original Autolube system (not premix) through new oil pipework. The front forks have new seals, dust covers and oil. The carbs have been ultrasonically cleaned and new float valves and gaskets fitted. The headstock bearings are new as is the chain. All locks work on the same original key. There are all the receipts (and many more) for the above parts to go with the sale. Sadly, I have had a replacment knee joint that has left me unable to ride it (I cant put my right foot on the rest or operate the rear brake). The last time I took it out it won “Bike of the night” at one of the Tuesay night bikers gatherings at the Churchill Arms in Alderholt, Dorset (see photo). Collection only is from Fordingbridge Hampshire.
