Honda: Interceptor

I will not be selling any individual parts, sorry.

Selling a MOSTLY DISASSEMBLED 1984 Honda VF750F Interceptor. This bike ran fine with its current parts (see video), with now the exception of the exhaust collector (more info further down).

I started disassembling it to check and replace any parts that may be past their wear limits (Clymer manual included). I unfortunately no longer have access to a suitable workshop space, so I hope to pass this project on to another enthusiast or someone looking for a donor.

Registration/title included, this would be an ICBC sale/transfer.

Condition of parts that were inspected:

The carbs have been restored and rebuilt with new gaskets, and the mechanical rods that open the throttle intakes have been rebalanced. I would still recommend a vacuum balance to get them into perfect condition. Airbox has also been restored.

Handlebar controls / electronics have been rebuilt / restored with dielectric grease and plastic polish.

The petcock gasket on the gas tank wasn’t sealing in the closed position properly. I have a new gasket but it has not been installed.

The cam shafts have a few more nicks and notches than I was happy to continue with, so I bought another set of used complete cylinder heads (incl. head, cam shafts, valves, etc.) from ebay, those are still in the box and will be included in the sale.

The internal shift forks are past their wear limit and should be replaced (they still work but the transmission felt finicky between 1-N-2).

The exhaust collector was extremely corroded and crumbled around the muffler pipe attachment during disassembly. This would need replacement before the bike can run again.

There is a bolt connecting the swingarm linkage that has fused to the alloy. I have tried an impact driver, days of penetrating oil, and blowtorching to no avail. This bolt will most likely need to be drilled out and the hole re-tapped if you want to disassemble the frame / rear suspension.

Upon initial inspection (with ID telescoping measuring rods and a Mitutoyo vernier caliper), the cylinder bores appear to be in spec.

New OEM spark plugs, oil filter, and oil included.

ALL PARTS AND FASTENERS ARE BOXED AND BAGGED WITH LABELS AND TAGS. I also have reference photos taken during disassembly (such as the crank case bolts).

If you live near enough in the BC lower mainland I may be able to deliver the bike and all the parts to you for another $50.
