1980 Kawasaki Z1R D3, The 1980 D3 Z1R is a very low production Kawasaki. The current engine runs, may need carb work and has noisy clutch basket, which will require the cases to be split so the clutch basket can be repaired or replaced.

The engine in this Z1R is not a D3 engine, it is a 1978 KZ 1000 B2 LTD engine. I have the correct D3 engine to go with this frame. The front left top motor mount ear is broken and will need to be repaired. This is a pretty straight forward welding job.

The original D3 engine is not complete, but will make this motorcycle a engine and frame correct D3 if the engine is repaired, reassembled and installed.

I have the original D3 gas tank for this Z1R, but there is no gas cap.

The front wheel is a 19 inch and the correct D3 front fender is on the bike

The gauges are correct for a 1980

This would be a good project to restore to a D3 or just remove the current engine and replace or repair the clutch basket and put it back in the frame and go from there.

The original D3 engine will go with this motorcycle along with the original D3 Tank.
