The engine bottom has not been split but I did remove barrel to see condition of piston and rod and to my surprise it was mint so like they say if it isn’t broken don’t try and fix it . I’ve restored many vintage mx bikes over the years and have been way over the top but in this build I decided to do a none purists but sympathetic restoration and I personally think it looks nice and would make a great vmx candidate.ive not ridden the bike since restoration but but have had it running and before restoration I road it around the yard at work and cycled the gears so no issues there . Will be happy for buyer to trundle around garden to test . have the remaining full gasket kit and original bars and leavers that will come with bike on sale Will answer any questions asked .
