For sale is my rare Yamaha RD400E which has the late 1970’s full FLF Kenny Roberts kit fitted. These kits were available from several bike shop distributors across the UK and included the following parts all on this bike :

1/ FLF Full Fairing & Screen (Kenny Roberts Team USA Colours)

2/ FLF Tank & Seat Unit

3/ Drop bars – The Jota bars fitted here were an expensive option

4/ Period rear sets – Period correct

5/ Mk 1 Microns fitted here but mk 1 Allspeeds were an option.

6/ FLF Front Mudguard.

7/ Cibie front headlight

8/ Marzochi shock absorbers.

It’s rare to have a full FLF kitted bike without damages and with all its original equipment. The bike is as original as left the shops back in the late 70’s and the kit has not been resprayed, so after over 45 years has some minor light cracking around the fairing supports but overall this bike is a solid 8.5-9.0/10 bike.

The bike itself is 1979 vintage …with a 400E engine aligned to a 250F frame. For us anoracks out there that’s the same frame type as a 400, just different frame code …1A2 not 1A3. The engine is 1A3 coded. It’s also a UK supplied bike from new being from the renowned Granby Motorcycles when existed! Tasteful gold wheels compliment the Roberts paintwork and overall the bike looks, sounds & goes the part. THIS BIKE IS LOUD, BOTH NOISE & LOOKS, SO NOT FOR YOU SHRINKING VIOLET TYPES! Please note the current tank & side panel underneath the FLF kit are dummies and carry some damage but I will replace with undamaged tank and re-pro Yambits side panel.
