1977 Honda CB400f (400/4) Cafe Racer Project and Parts
1977 CB400f which I bought about 8 years ago as a barn find, hasn’t been on the road since 1991. It was left to sit in my garage for a while and i’ve started to turn it into a cafe racer but its been sat for a year so it needs to go. The bike starts and runs great, although could do with the carbs balancing. V5 is present, in my name and has been updated to the new colour (can be easily changed if you want to change the colour). Not sure if the mileage on the speedo is correct that is what was on it when I bought it. Has started to drip oil, I believe its from the main seal behind the front sprocket, didn’t used to do it so I’m guessing the seal has failed. Comes with lots of spare parts (including a spare set of incomplete carbs that i’ve been borrowing parts from) please see the photos for what is included.
Works completed:
– Full strip down and powder coat including frame welding
– Engine complete nut and bolt rebuild using parts all from David Silver Spares
– Wheels powder coated and rebuilt with stainless steel spokes (again from DSS)
– 3D printed seat cowl and tank painted (paint on tank has been scratched during move)
– Carbs and engine vapour blasted
– Delkevic fully system installed
– Carbs rebuilt using DSS parts and rejetted to suit pod filters and exhaust
– New sprockets fitted
– New switch gears and clip on levers
– New petcock and fuel tank cap
