For sale is my 1976 Suzuki GT250A. A great classic two-stroke that’s had a significant amount of work carried out, with over £1,200 spent on the engine rebuild alone.

Engine work includes:

Crankshaft professionally rebuilt by PJME with new seals and bearings

Cylinders rebored

Exhaust threads on the cylinder heads professionally repaired by Seager Engineering (see photos)

Only covered around 25 miles since the rebuild

Other work and upgrades:

Higgspeed exhaust.

X7 wheels fitted with brand-new tyres

Tank and side panels professionally painted in genuine Candy Red shortly before I bought the bike

New tank badges

Front brake caliper rebuilt

New master cylinder fitted

As can be seen in the photos, the bike is not completely original and has a few non-OEM parts including the mudguards, mirrors and indicators. Genuine GT250 parts are becoming increasingly difficult and expensive to source.

One fork leg lets the bike down slightly, as a previous owner attempted a twin-disc conversion and welded a caliper bracket onto it. However, I have replacement fork legs  and seals that will be included with the sale.

I’m aware the bike is a mixture of parts from different models and isn’t a concours-standard machine. It still needs a little TLC to finish it off, but it’s a solid, usable classic with the expensive engine work already done.

The bike is rideable.
