1974 Yamaha RD350 1974 US specification restoration project

Due to a change in circumstances, reluctantly, I will be selling my RD350 project/restoration. 

Frame, swing arm and stand freshly powder coated. 

Engine rebuilt and fitted into the frame. Not tested running but compression test performed @ 110psi both sides. Rebuild included crank rebuild at PJME in Wolverhampton. Aftermarket cylinder barrels and pistons fitted and torqued down. 

Registered with DVLA so no paperwork required. NOVA/import registration all completed. Bike is on an old ‘N’ reg. 

Stacks of receipts for new and used parts, I have an inventory of what’s fitted and what’s not. Estimation of £1000 invoice worth of new and used parts not yet fitted. Oil tank, CDI ignition, sprockets etc. to name a few. Fuel tank has been filled and primed. 

Frame and engine code isn’t matching.

There are some parts missing so I’m not selling this as a complete project but the parts left will certainly get the bike to a rolling and starting state. 

The bike is currently built up from the front. Front wheel is on, forks are on (oiled and sealed) and handlebars are on. Back wheel isn’t on, but new tyre is fitted. 

Engine is mounted with correct mounting bolts. 

Centre stand and footplate fitted with correct bolts. 

Parts document can be shared to genuinely interested buyers. A sample is below:

1. Brand new CDI ignition (£160 worth alone)

2. Brand new fuel tap (£80 worth)

3. Oil pump repair kit

4. Brand new battery

5. Brand new chain and sprockets

6. Brand new brake shoes

The last picture is of the bike ‘assembled’ and how I bought it before starting the restoration. The first picture is current state of the bike. This was around May 2024.
