Honda CB450K4 1971 – Beautiful Condition – Fresh MOT till July 2027
1971 Honda CB450K that has just been MOT’d and is ready to ride and enjoy.
**NB Tax and MOT are not required for this age of vehicle. I had it MOT tested to prove its road worthiness.**
The bike was imported from the USA meaning it was free from the corrosion often found on UK bikes.
The previous owner carried out an extensive mechanical refurbishment and sympathetic restoration while retaining the bike’s original character. The frame remains in its original finish, while the fuel tank and side panels were professionally repainted in a beautiful Bentley Metallic Silver Grey with hand-painted coach lines.
The work included:
- New cam chain
- Cylinder head cleaned
- Valves de-coked and lapped
- New valve stem seals
- Two replacement rocker arms
- Numerous new seals, bearings (including swing-arm bushes), cables and battery
The chrome is excellent throughout, including the exhausts, mudguards and wheel rims.
The bike also benefits from several worthwhile upgrades:
- Hagon adjustable rear shocks
- Tytronic electronic ignition
- Solid-state regulator/rectifier
- Capellini paper oil filter conversion
- Honda CB750 front master cylinder for improved braking feel
The original oil filtration parts and master cylinder are included with the sale.
I have other spares that will come with the sale such as the standard raised handlebars as opposed to the flat ones that have been fitted. Also the near side mirror, a spare regulator/rectifier and other odds and ends.
I have owned the bike for the last nine years, during which time it has covered only around 3,000 miles in the dry weather. It has been carefully maintained, regularly exercised and always garage stored.

The speedometer was replaced before my ownership so the displayed mileage cannot be verified.
The bike starts easily, idles smoothly, pulls strongly and rides exactly as a classic Honda should.
An opportunity to own one of Honda’s landmark motorcycles – the first ever mass produced DOHC motorcycle- that combines classic styling with discreet reliability improvements.
The bike has been a pleasure to own and ride and feels quite powerful for a 450cc of that era.
