1968 Triumph T100C US Import.

Up for grabs is an original condition Triumph, runs and rides, UK registered on age related plate, V5 in my name. Imported from USA couple of years ago. I have all the import paperwork, copy of the US title, dating certificate from the Triumph Owners Club etc.

Mileage showing approx 6000 miles.

Extensive “Rustoration” carried out a couple of years ago. Bike was a genuine barn find, non runner.

Work carried out as follows:

New tyres front and back

Front fork tubes were totally rotten and seized in the yokes. These were cut out and replaced with new. New fork seal holder, Gaitors, replacement (green) springs (these had stiffer springs in the US, and I have fitted the correct ones), New stainless fork caps.Totally rebuilt.

Front headlamp was unserviceable. Was unable to find the correct smaller US version, so have fitted a side mount BATES style one which looks just as good.

New US spec bars, white Amal grips.

Fuel tank sealed and new tank grips.

New Amal carb. I have the original, but these are a pain in the a*s to clean out as the pilot jet is pressed in. The new AMAL ones have a removable jet.

Side panel was missing so sourced the correct one the US.

New battery, modern regulator/rectifier hidden under the seat and electronic Wassell ignition. Basic wiring loom. No horn.

Replaced the seat with the correct US spec one (its actually a Trident seat)

New chain, rear brake rod, adjuster, springs etc.

Basically everything has been stripped down, checked over, and rebuilt in some form or another, perished rubber items replaced, metalwork lightly wire brushed and treated with linseed oil, for that orignal, patina’d, untouched look. Could do with a fresh application.

Runs and rides well. Recently did a 200 mile trip to Wales on it.

Some minor bad points but must be mentioned for full transparency:

Has no silencers, never bothered fitting any. Ran it as is, sounds great.

Speedo will require repairing, the dial has come loose for some reason, and I dont think it works. (It worked fine when I got it, I would suggest the mileage is genuine).

No sidestand.
Centrestand is the incorrect one (came like it), and has been repaired with some “creative” welding back in the USA.

In summary, a great opportunity to own an orginal condition, running and riding old Unit Triumph, which in my opinion is worth more than your run of the mill, powdercoated, show painted, boring classic. The inside of the motor looks pristine and doesnt look to have been touched by any ham fisted oafs over the course of its life. Its revvy, responsive, comfy, and handles well. Ride it how you like, but if you ride it like an old 2 stroke its more fun than a 650!

Collection from Redditch, Worcestershire. Bank Transfer preffered.

I havent ridden it in a while, so would suggest trailering or sticking in a van rather than riding it away.
