Triumph T100R 1966 US Model Restoration Project Very Original Near Complete
Offered here is a 1966 Triumph T100R, US specificationmachine, made in January 1966. This is a largely complete and original matchingnumbers project machine. Its been standing in a few different garages for manyyears and unfortunately I do not have the time to restore it, so it’s offeredto fellow enthusiast as a fairly straightforward restoration project. As a member, I obtained a dating certificate from theTriumph Owners MCC, confirming the date of manufacture and despatch from thefactory. I was also told that the bike was made around the same time as the famous Daytona winning group of machines. The bike is almost complete, mostly original and sound,however will need full inspection and renovation. The only items I can see thatare obviously missing are the speedo and revcounter. These do come up for salefrom time to time and replica items are also available. Looking through thespark plug holes, I can see very clean and probably new pistons. I have notchecked it any further. It kicks over ok, gears select, clutch operates but isstiff, suspension goes up and down ok, brakes almost work, one small fin chipmissing on near side. I have found the original and rare correct main stand,which is included. There are also a few other items I have purchased which cango with the bike, hopefully it will help the new owner. It could be restored as original, converted into a Daytonareplica or easily made into a desert sled. This classic 1960’s Triumph had high performance 500cc enginewith sports/race profile camshafts but a single carburettor for ease of use.Plenty of used parts around, also new replica parts so anything needed shouldbe freely available. I am not interested in a swap or part exchange for anything.Viewing is welcome, ideally you need to see the bike before purchase, strictly soldas seen and no returns.
