Bought this a while back on a bit of a whim. I have sourced the original valanced mudguards, bought the manual and parts book. But I have way too many projects and I need to make a bit of space. I have had some experts comment on it and I can tell you with a fair bit of confidence the following:
This is a Mototrans frame from 1964 -Mototrans were licensed by Ducati to make these – apparently they were so well engineered that Ducati never made any money on them due to cost of production
The engine appears to be a 160 from 1969 so at some point there appears to have been a new engine fitted -frame and engine numbers are clear
Apart from the handlebars and the rear partial light, it is stock.
It seems in tact and the only issue I can see is the slightly rusted battery shelf which apparently you can get still.
The engine was running a few years ago -it turns over easily and there is compression
In fact the tank still had fuel in which I have now drained out
I would say it is a really good bike to either get going and ride as is or restore
The wheels are the more desirable alloys which are in really nice nick.
I am just looking to recover my costs and price is based on pickup from WR2 6NJ
If you want it delivered, send me a postcode and I’ll get a price
As you can see there is some nice paperwork with it – as well as the Nova it appears to have a Spanish equivalent of a V5 and a service leaflet with a couple of services – I will include in the sale the manual and parts book too
I live just 20 minutes from all 3 of the motorway junctions of the M5 (5,6,7)
