1963 BSA B40 – With Yamaha XT500 Engine Conversion – Running, Riding Project
1963 BSA B40 / XT500 ENGINE
Selling to fund another project
Running and riding but needs either carberation or ignition looking at due to sooting the sparkplugs up after 5 miles of riding.
Quite hard to start from cold, isn’t the easiest to start as the engine has high compression so takes a good kick
Runs nice, sounds lovely ! and has plenty of power but needs the carb re jetting or looking at ?
Video of it starting is from cold and starts easier when warm but is hard to start from cold
5 speed gearbox is lovely and handles very well, All lights work
This bike was converted roughly 20 years ago, engine fully rebuilt, not done many miles, Tyres are good but are old rubber but are good enough for road use
Magura hydraulic clutch, oil cooler
Bike isn’t mint but has nice patena condition
V5 is updated to 500cc
A good running project to sort out with a bit of fettling
