1957 Triumph Tiger Cub 200cc Historic Reg.Matching Frame & Engine Numbers.
Here we have a very early cub sometimes referred to as the baby cub with the 16″ wheels.
I have owned this bike for the last two years and have only used it to take to shows and the odd run out on fine days, hence only 181 miles from it’s last MOT .
As it is not fitted with indicators I am finding that most drivers today don’t seem to take any notice of hand signals they seem to think you are putting your arm out to see if it’s raining !!
So for this reason it’s time to move it on. I bought this from pure nostalgia as it was the first bike I passed my test on memories of misspent youth.
The bike has been restored by the previous owner and is in good overall condition.
The Frame was repainted and all nut& bolts replaced with stainless.
The wheels rebuilt with stainless rims & spokes, new tyres and tubes.
The engine was refurbished has good compression with no smoke or rattles and usually starts first or second kick ( my eighty year old legs sometimes struggle)
The clutch operates ok and all gears select fine, the little gear indicator on the headlight nacelle works as well and lets you find neutral easily.
In most cases on some bikes it’s just decoration but this one really works as Triumph intended.
Currently fitted with new gel battery.
Two ignition keys present.
Tyre pump present. (Usually the first thing that gets lost)
I have all the important documents
V5 in my name
Dating certificate
Workshop Instruction Manual plus a Haynes manual
Triumph Replacement parts catalogue No 5
DVLA confirmation letter of the age related registration number
It’s last MOT with confirmed mileage.
All in all a nice piece of British motorcycle history to be cherished and enjoyed.
