The bike is in really good condition throughout – starts and runs without problem. The previous owner gave it a thorough cosmetic and mechanical restoration about 7 years ago, after which it hasn’t really been ridden much. I’ve owned the bike for almost 3 years and I’m almost ashamed to say I’ve done just 7 miles in that time.
I have some paperwork from the restoration which confirms that the following was done:
– Engine re-bore (59mm +60 piston)
– Reconditioned 8E crankshaft
– Re-lined brake shoes
– New main jet
– New carb gasket set
– New Carb float
– New tickler spring
– 48T sprocket
– New chain
– 8E gasket set
– New oil seals
– Re-magnetised flywheel
– New brake/ throttle cables
– New ignition coil & condenser
– New air filter
Bike is currently on SORN and located in Daventry, Northamptonshire. Collection only of course and payment to be made by bank transfer.
I’ll be honest, a bit sad to see this go. but I just don’t have time for it anymore – I’m sure the new owner can give it the time and love it deserves. I bought the bike largely for sentimental reasons – my late Father in Law rode one as a young man.
There aren’t too many ’57 Falcons around in this condition and which have undergone such work. Certainly it will be one of the best you’ll see… maybe THE best.
