Purchased this bike back in 2019 to be a daily ride and it proved itself to be a very reliable bike. As per the photos it has been certified by the Matchless Owners Club as a 1951 competition model G80C. The engine appears to be a slightly later 1953 model that was later fitted. I bought the tank separately from a seller in the US as it is the original Matchless Competition version.
The seat clamp has also had some minor modifications to make it a more comfortable bike to ride. Also comes with original bike stand – see photos.
See video of bike running as of making this listing. Despite having sat for some 18 months prior to sale, all it took was some fresh fuel and it started up on the third kick, which just underlines the incredible reliability of this bike given its age.
Completely road legal with V5c and certification docs.
