Ambassador Popular 1951
1951 Ambassador Popular, 197cc Villiers engine.
Restored by me about 7 or 8 years ago.
Frame, mudguards, tool box and all associated parts were bead blasted, primed and painted black gloss (2-pack). Tank was painted in as close as I could get to the original finish.
Crank was rebuilt by Villiers Services and the engine was re-assembled using all new bearings, seals and gaskets.
Wheels were rebuilt by Central Wheels using one original and one new steel rim, both powder coated in black gloss, new spokes, tyres and tubes.
The bike starts first or second kick, runs and rides well. It smokes like a chimney (runs on 16:1) and makes me smile, not sure about anyone following! Lights work but I wouldn’t go too far at night with them. Speedo is fitted but doesn’t work and it would need a bulb horn fitting to be strictly legal.
No Paypal, I will require cash on collection or bank transfer before the bike goes anywhere. If you have any sensible questions or you would like to view the bike please ask.
Reason for selling is I am thinning out my collection, more to come later.
