Velocette LE Mark 1 classic motorcycles

Classic 1950 LE Velocette hand-start, hand gear change. One of the early survivors. This has I believe been off the road since 1967. I bought it as a ‘barn-find’ around eight years ago, but an impending house move means I will not be able to restore/recommission it as I hoped. Even the handlebar rubbers are original, as is all the switchgear, front number plate, rear light etc.
For people that know the LE, these bikes are beautifully engineered, and spares are easily obtained through the owners club, as well as restoration/repair knowledge, special tools etc.
The engine does not turn over, probably due to lack of use. I have deliberately kept it as I found it, until getting round to restoring it to ‘oily rag’ condition, so it will need a full recommissioning.
This particular LE is not an ex-police model, but has been in private hands with three registered owners in the 1960s.
Comes with V5 in my name, and a buff logbook.
